The path to the pilgrimage church of St. Georgenberg goes through the wild and romantic Wolfsklamm. The path is accessible to all age groups and is easily reachable from the Wellnesshotel Schwarzbrunn and winds through the gorge upwards over stairs and walkways past thunderous waterfalls. A hike through the Wolfsklamm is an experience that will excite adults and children equally.

The raging Stallenbach is a unique natural spectacle; the river’s many waterfalls produce foamy whitewater and deep pools that glow emerald green. The footbridge takes you up to the top of the 898 meter high Georgenberg. St. Georgenberg, with its Baroque churches, is the oldest pilgrimage site in Austria. The hike through the Wolfsklamm to St. Georgenberg takes about an hour. Admission to the canyon is free of charge for our guests.

One of the most beautiful renaissance castles of Europe offers exciting tours for the entire family in immediate vicinity of the Wellnesshotel Schwarzbrunn. Using an extraordinary audio-visual tour in the form of a fairytale suitable for children, young guests as well as grown-ups will be led in a playful and exciting way through its history. This historic architectural gem is easy to reach on foot or by bicycle.

Numerous small and large lakes for swimming with excellent water quality are just right for cooling off on hot summer days. A trip on the Achensee cog railroad from Jenbach to the largest lake in Tyrol is considered a special highlight and also offers an excellent opportunity to take part in some watersports. But also smaller lakes, such as the Weißlahn lake, the Schlitterer lake or the lakes of the Rhein valley are easily reached from Stans by bicycle.

The trip from Jenbach (6 km from Stans) through the wild and romantic landscape to the largest lake in Tyrol is an unforgettable experience. At the last stop there is a direct connection to the Achensee boat cruise.

Would you like to take a trip into the past? A nostalgic steam locomotive takes you on a journey through the picturesque Ziller valley.

Sports enthusiasts ride their bikes in summer to the train station in Jenbach and from there it’s off in the direction of Mayrhofen. As a special treat, the Zillertal Municipal Transport Service offers “Hobbyist-trips” between Mayrhofen and Fügen, in which you can live out your childhood dream of being a locomotive engineer.

Klangspuren barefeet, the kids program of the Klangspuren Schwaz festival offers hikes, guided visits, concerts, mushroom and berry picking hikes, jam making and listening walks - activities which make sense and takes the kids on a journey through exciting worlds and though our own senses.

Since its foundation the klangspuren festival takes place every September. The original concept of offering a professional and expandable platform for new music also in the West of Austria is still the basis of programming.

A simple block house from the 16th century is used as a small, but charming museum of local history. The domestic culture and working customs of our forefathers are represented here in an extraordinary way.

In 1997 the museum was renowned by the cultural committee as the best museum and centre of preservation for ancient monuments. . You can also see some agricultural instruments of Weerberg farmers, such as a windmill from the 17th century for cleaning corn, a threshing machine, ploughs, some brakes and various other old tools from days past The black kitchen, the workspace of peasant women and maidservants, still conserves many kitchen tools. Another show-piece is the 18th century canopy bed in the bedroom (loan from the Volkskunstmuseum/Folk Art Museum). The museum and historic landmark association was founded in 1929 and houses the gallery in Rabalderhaus and since 1999 the “Kunst in Schwaz” museum (Art in Schwaz museum).

In this Zillertal cheese dairy you can experience how it all began in the year 1912. Even today the delicacies such as the "Hochfügener Almkäse" and the delicious Emmentaler are produced from raw milk that has never been stored in silos. When you visit the Fügen Alpine Dairy you not only receive information about the cheese tradition of the Ziller valley, but also of course, hearty free samples. Admission is free.

Let yourself be whisked away on an exciting journey through time to the “Silver” Middle Ages and follow the tracks of the miners. In the 90 minute tour you will discover everything about the largest mine of the 15th century and about the Fugger merchant family.

The Zeiss Planetarium of the nearby town of Schwaz offers a multi-media trip into the cosmos.

The “Haus der Völker” in Schwaz contains a very special private art collection that offers substantial insight into the cultures of the world.

The “Haus der Völker” was established in 1995 and is an initiative of the Tyrolean expert on Africa and photographer, Gert Chesi. In thirty years he has collected more than a thousand exhibits, which – supplemented by loan collections - form the basis of an outstanding gallery.
